June 17: Conjuror's Corner presents David Williamson. David is one of the most versatile corporate entertainers working today. Whether he's pretending to be a nervous stress management consultant for 12,000 McDonald's managers or producing a live donkey onstage at a top-level IBM meeting, David has the ability to engage, entertain, and educate any corporate group. This lecture is a Conjuror's Corner exclusive as David will not be performing anywhere else in the Chicagoland area for some time. Non-member fee for David Williamson is $25 and is payable at the door. There are no discounts available for this lecture. The lecture is from 7pm to 9pm at Conjuror's Corner at Harry's Magic Shop/Jensen Entertainment, 820 W Lake St, Unit 206, Roselle, IL
June 19: IBM Ring 43 presents Shoot Ogawa. If you don’t know much about him, Shoot Ogawa was born in Tokyo, Japan, is now living in Los Angeles, and speaks fluent English. His original magic has swept the magic world off it’s feet, as well as sweeping every magic competition since arriving on the magic scene in 1993. This is your opportunity to see Shoot’s award winning performance, and then demonstrate and lecture the very same material that left so many magicians astonished. Shoot will also present cards, rope, and flip stick/thimble effects to complete his lecture. The lecture starts at 8PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3637 Golf Road, Evanston IL GUESTS $15.
June 22: Conjuror's Corner presents Whit Haydn. Whit is that strangest of creatures, an honest cheat--a fake scoundrel. Whether on stage or performing close-up magic at an elegant private party, Whit Haydn combines his magic with the wit and charm of a con artist and the deftness of a pickpocket. His humor, wit, and incredible skill keep people talking long after the event. On stage, Whit combines wit, humor and audience participation with unbelievable sleight-of-hand to weave a spell of enchantment and fun. He proposes to teach how some of the classic feats of magic are done. As the explanation progresses, so does the confusion as magic just seems to happen, and the audience, the on-stage volunteers, and the magician are caught up in a mystifying web of comedy and pure magic. Using everyday objects such as an egg, a rope, and a newspaper, Whit turns classic magic inside out–the magician seems lost as the magic happens in the hands of the spectators. Non-member fee for Whit Haydn is $25 and is payable at the door. There are no discounts available for this lecture. The lecture is from 7pm to 9pm at Conjuror's Corner at Harry's Magic Shop/Jensen Entertainment, 820 W Lake St, Unit 206, Roselle, IL
